EcoMotors International has received $23.5 million from Microsoft Corp. Chairman Bill Gates and investor Vinod Khosla for engineering and testing of its trademarked Opoc engine technology. As the 25th anniversary of the M3 draws near, BMW is starting the celebration a bit early with a limited-edition M3 coupe for U.S. buyers. And BMW means limited--it will sell only 30 copies of the car, painted in a color called Frozen Gray.
BMW won't launch the X1 small crossover in the United States before late this year, and the vehicle may not arrive until 2012 because of hot demand in Europe.
